Begin

A very significant part of my life was a Peace Corps teaching experience in the Fiji Islands 1972-74.  I received so much more than I could have possible given as a teacher and have students, colleagues, friends and families to thank for my amazing life there.  I was able to visit Fiji again November-December 2010 with the intent to find as many former students, colleagues, friends and families that I could, as well as visit Naitasiri Junior Secondary School (now called Naitasiri Provincial High School) and Vunimono High School, and meet the current Peace Corps Volunteers and their Director and Staff.

What follows is a description of my 2010 visit, who I found, and hopefully photos of both schools (if I can figure out how to post a photo).  I invite anyone who visits this blog to share this website with others who might be interested, or who can help me find more students and colleagues, including Peace Corps Volunteers who followed me at both schools.

Ultimately, I hope to have a group of people that will be interested in remaining connected, paying attention to both schools and their progress, and possibly organizing a reunion.  Most likely there are other internet tools that can serve us as well, such as Facebook.  Please share whatever suggestions you have.

Recognize this school?  Naitasiri Provincial High School and Rara District School compound.
